LIT HOMEWORK.
Sunday, June 17, 2012 | 7:45 PM | 0 comments
Hey 3N, remember Ms Nandwani talking to us about our lit holiday assignment on the last day of school? Here it is, please do!1. Every Powerpoint presentation must have the following components
a) Paraphrase of lines in sections; students must indicate line numbers for this
b) Thematic focus for the scene or pages that they are presenting on; indicate the specific theme and use PEEL for this.
eg. Shakespeare may be suggesting that in romantic relationships which involve love, many obstacles and issues are almost inevitable, but not insurmountable.
Then student must surface evidence and elaborate on evidence.
c) Characterisation
d) Use of figurative language- Remember to analyse the effectiveness of figurative language
e) Use of language in scene, eg. Humour, Irony, etc
Here's the distribution of work:
Group 1: Index numbers 1-5 will analyse and present Act1 Scene 3,4, & 5.
Each girl must be responsible for a few pages. The group is to divide the work amongst themselves.
Group 2: Index numbers 6-15 will analyse and present Act 2 Scenes 1 to 5
Group members are to delegate the work amongst themselves.
Group 3: Index numbers 16-25 will analyse and present Act 3 Scene 1 to 5
Group members are to delegate the work amongst themselves.
Group 4: Index numbers 26-35 will analyse and present Act 4 Scene 1 to 5
Group members are to delegate the work amongst themselves.
Group 5: Index numbers 36-41 including Jade will analyse and present Act 5 Scenes 1,2 & 3
Group members are to delegate the work amongst themselves.
I am supposed to save all presentations in separate folders for each group. Work must be sent to cao_yexin@hotmail.com by 21st June, morning.
I am supposed to send to Ms Nandwani the work by 22nd June morning.

Quotes for our Class Jacket/T-shirt
Friday, March 30, 2012 | 6:45 AM | 0 comments
As you can read from the title I thought maybe we can have a quote at the back of our class jacket. Because maybe LIT KID may be a bit too... showy? And too simple also. We can have it at the front (one word on each flap). I have some quotes here we can use..."A classic is something that everybody wants to have read and nobody wants to read." ~ Mark Twain
"Literature is the question minus the answer. ~Roland Barthes"
"Know thyself? If I knew myself, I would have run away." ~ Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe (a famous writer)
"Denial ain't just a river in Egypt." ~ Mark Twain (get it?? the river NILE. DE-NILE.)
Haha I know some of the quotes have no relation to Literature or anything but the people who came up with them are famous writers. :DD sooo... any other good quotes just tell me or post it on the tagboardddd.
WE NEED THE JACKET AND T-SHIRT DONE BY LIT TRIP SO WE CAN WEAR IT AS A CLASS AND WEAR IT PROUDLY AROUND LONDON LIKE A FASHION SHOW! So we have to confirm designs NOW.
Okay. Front of t-shirt. do you all want like a 'dicitonary definition'?
Something like that. orrr...
Lit Kid /leet-keed/ (put the speaker sign here or something. Or a tree??) n. sg. informal.
1. Used to describe someone blah blah blah. Be as ego as you like. :D
etc.
I am horrible at witty stuff so you all have ideas please go tagboard or go facebook discuss.
Thanks!!! @.@

In case any of you are still visiting the blog (I hope you do) :D think of ideas for the Emerge competition and on Tuesday or Wednesday we are going to discuss it seriously.
I know some of you think that this is just another competition, no big deal... but IT'S NOT! It's another chance for our class to bond by working with one another and also creating something that we can be proud of. We have an edge over other classes: we have creativity. we are spontaneous. we have people who are willing to work for the class. we are 3N. So let's work together and try to win this okay? I know we can :))
Oh and here's the available 'roles' you can take in the drama production.
1. Script Devising Committee - The most fun. But the most tiring. Out of all the ideas we are going to throw up, these people have to create the script and type it out. You have to create three-dimensional characters and have to create good dialogue. At least 3 members. Two I/Cs, at least one other member.
2. Performance SubCommittee - Director and Assistant Director. And performers. If you like performing and directing... you should join. :* 10 performers.
3. Logistics SubCommittee
- Stage Manager -> One of most important people in drama. You have to take note of every single position the actor is supposed to stand, visual and sound cues, and you have to prompt when lines are forgotten. Make sure everyone backstage is ready. Need assistant.
- Lighting and Sound I/C. Control sound and as for lights... I don't think we really need one. :S
- Props and Costume Manager. You have to come up with props and costumes for the performance. Need assistant.
- Stage Crew. To help carry props in and out of the stage area. At least 3.
4. Design Committee - help design posters to promote our performance. 2 I/Cs, three members.
5. Publicity Committee - Help to promote our performance online. Will be helping to record our performance and uploading everything onto Facebook. ICT Manager, Assistant, three members.
If you would like to help out... step forward on Tuesday or Wednesday...! ^^
